Chief Revenue Officer
ROLE DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE
As the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), your primary objective is to drive revenue growth and maximise profitability for the company. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase sales, optimise pricing, enhance customer retention, and expand our global market share. Working closely with the executive team, you will align sales, product, marketing, and customer success efforts to achieve company revenue targets and long-term business objectives.
OBJECTIVES
- Develop and implement comprehensive revenue generation strategies to achieve company goals.
- Lead and manage the commercial (sales, marketing, and customer success) team to drive performance and exceed revenue targets.
- Analyse market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
- Optimise pricing models and packaging strategies to maximise revenue and profitability.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth and foster loyalty.
- Implement and leverage data-driven analytics and CRM technologies to track performance, measure success, and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of revenue-generating initiatives.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis to the executive team on revenue performance, forecasts, and trends.
Role Requirements
FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field; MBA or advanced post graduate degree is preferred.
- Certifications in sales, marketing, or revenue management (e.g., Certified Sales Executive, Revenue Growth Professional) are a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious revenue goals.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and profitability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Deep understanding of sales, marketing, and customer success strategies and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and other sales enablement technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term while executing tactically to deliver results.
- Adaptability and resilience to navigate challenges and drive continuous improvement.
JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles with a focus on revenue generation, sales, or business development.
- Proven track record of successfully leading revenue-generating teams and achieving ambitious targets.
- Experience in scaling revenue operations in high-growth technology or SaaS companies is highly desirable.
- Strong network and relationships within the industry, including customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
